Lena Eriksson Åshuvud develops sustainability housing in deprived areas – as co-founder, board member and operations manager in a real estate company with a different approach, under the name GodBo.
Now it’s time to really listen to those who live in these areas and together with them create Sweden’s best residential areas.
Innovative solutions will give more people a simpler and safer entry-level model for ownership and integration. More ownership creates greater commitment, responsibility and, in the long run, security. This benefits all residents, regardless of whether you own or rent. In this way, GodBo will contribute to reducing housing segregation.
We find the background to the initiative in the founders’ many years of industry experience, including from property management of housing. Not only have they experienced weaknesses in the administration and seen that customer satisfaction among the residents has been at low levels in socio-economically vulnerable areas, but they have also seen a lack of initiative to address the problems. In two chronicles (in Swedish) from 2021 and 2022 in Förvaltarforum, GodBos’ chairman Ulf Nyqvist points to weaknesses in the work of creating less segregation, security and customer satisfaction from property owners, municipalities and other parties involved.
